Topacz Castle. The History of the Tower and Manor House in Ślęza

The complex, now open to the public, is known as Topacz Castle. The revitalisation process, completed in 2015, and the repurposing of the former manor and farm complex in Ślęza provide a valuable opportunity to summarise and disseminate current knowledge about the rich past of this historic site.
The present account of the history and transformations of the castle and manor house in Ślęza has been made possible by drawing on over a century of work by numerous historians, as well as on architectural and archaeological research carried out in connection with successive construction and conservation works undertaken in 1979 and in the years 2003–2014, which yielded a number of intriguing discoveries.
